Idaho has ranked 46th nationally while boasting the strongest growth in income ,The bills get higher and the paychecks get smaller. Partly due to Idaho's Right to Work" status. Couple this with unlawful tariffs and to conjecture, opportunities are slipping away with each generation and the barriers keep rising.
Idahoans deserve an economy that works for EVERYONE! Not just powerful men with connections. I will fight to raise the wages and do away with the outdated "Right to Work" status and set Federal Policies that support initiatives that establish federal standards for benefits such as pensions, and paid sick leave like the PRO Act which would strengthen workers’ rights to bargain collectively for higher wages and better benefits.
The longest time between U.S. federal wage increases is
the current period, with the minimum wage remaining at $7.25 per hour
since July 24, 2009. As of July 2025, this spans over 16 years without an increase, marking the longest stretch of stagnation since the federal minimum wage was established in 1938.
I support Proposals in legislation to raise the federal minimum wage, such as the Raise the Wage Act or the Higher Wages for American Workers Act, which aims to increase it to at least $15 per hour.
Serving on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) is where I would find myself most useful. Which has jurisdiction over federal labor and employment laws, including wage and hours regulations.
